Mayors Charity Hoedown at the Ukrainian Club

Enjoy yourself at the Charity Hoedown with entertainment by the ‘Last Chance Saloon band’ in aid of Halifax Parkinsons UK and the Calderdale Womenscentre with all raised funds being matched by Barclay’s bank.

Celebrate 30 years of Calderdale and Kirklees Women Centre

WomenCentre Calderdale and Kirklees is celebrating its 30th anniversary of great work and support of women’s health and well-being!

To mark this special occasion, different events have been organised and the first one is the 30+3 songs challenge!

On Saturday 19 September – 12pm to 4pm

You can be a part of this challenge and choose which songs you would like to hear on the day by bidding and choosing 10 songs from a list of 30 which can be found here.

Behind the Mask – a well-being project for women

Award-winning arts company verd de gris are recruiting participants for a FREE creative project for women of all ages to create something uplifting that will help build confidence and improves your sense of well-being.

Healthy Minds Support Groups in Calderdale

healthy mindsHealthy Minds Support Groups are for anyone experiencing mental distress, offering a place where people are free to talk about their own mental health if they wish in an informal and relaxed environment.

The following groups run monthly and offer support for those who need it:

  • Depression Support Group – Every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
    Noah’s Ark Centre, Ovenden from 1pm to 3pm
  • Wellbeing Works Group – Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
    St Paul’s Methodist Church, Sowerby Bridge from 2pm to 4pm
  • Mum Time Support Group – Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month
    Women Centre, Halifax from 1pm to 2.45pm
  • Wellbeing Support Group for Men – Every 2nd Wednesday of the month

  • Self Harm Support Group – Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month

Women Centre AGM Event 2014

The WomenCentre Annual General Meeting on Monday 13 October 2014 will be an evening of information and entertainment focusing on WomenCentre work  in Calderdale and Kirklees.

Making Advice Work (MAW) Networking Events

Networking events open staff and volunteers currently providing advice and support. Come along and hear more about out how MAW works with advice and support organisations in Calderdale.

On Wednesday 2 July, 5pm – 7.30pm OR Friday 4 July, 12pm – 2.30pm.

Meet staff from the main project partners; learn more about our plans to make it easier for people to access advice and support. Hear about tools for demonstrating the difference advice and support makes as well as the training and volunteer support available to you.

This is not a drop in session. Due to limited spaces please email/telephone to book your place. Food and refreshments provided and travel expenses will be paid for volunteers.
