WomenCentre Halifax is holding a Find Your Voice workshop on Tuesdays, 1:30pm-3:00pm (term time only) starting Tuesday 22 January 2019.

Sing the music you love in a relaxing and fun space with a women’s community choir facilitated by ‘Find Your Voice’

This is a 10 week course to give encouragement and support towards a more confident you.

Creative Thinking and Changing the Story

Reflective Women will enable women to

Re-think your story

  • reflect on past experiences and how they have impacted on your sense of self
  • use & develop thinking skills
  • develop positive decision-making and self-esteem

Re-write your story

  • find your voice and tell your lived experience your way
  • set goals for the future to achieve your potential
  • use creativity such as writing, poetry and art
  • create materials to help others

Reflective Women will be a supportive, creative, mindful thinking environment inspired by the life and words of inspirational women

WomenCentre to provide Calderdale Staying Safe service

WomenCentre is delighted to announce that it successfully tendered to provide Calderdale Council’s Domestic Abuse Support Services Contract. The newly contracted service starts on Friday 1 July 2016 and the service will be rebranded and publicised as ‘Calderdale Staying Safe’.

There will be one office phone number to contact the team for support for children, young people and adults: Monday to Friday / 9am to 5pm / (01422) 323339

The Calderdale Staying Safe office base will be at WomenCentre working closely with its existing Breaking the Cycle Team (funded by the Big Lottery).

WomenCentre, Calderdale – Freedom Programme

women centreThe Freedom programme is a weekly support group and there will be 2 groups starting from Monday 11 April 2016 where each week you will look at different types of abuse. The Freedom programme is for women who have been affected by or would like to learn more about domestic abuse.

The daytime group starts on Monday 11 April 2016 from 10am to 12noon and will run every Monday until Monday 27 June 2016.

The evening group starts on Tuesday 12 April from 6pm to 8pm and will run every Tuesday until Tuesday 28 June 2016.

Please Note – There will be no group on Monday 30 or Tuesday 31 May 2016 due to the May half term school holiday.

Self & agency referrals are accepted however the referred woman must have given consent for the referral to be made. For more detailed information about the programme and referral process click here or to make a referral, please complete the programme referral form.
