Luddenden Village Open Gardens Saturday 1 July

This bi-annual event will open up 15 various village gardens and will suit all tastes. They range from small cottage gardens to larger ones with wonderful views of the Luddenden Valley. Many gardens will be providing refreshments to raise funds for local charities and some will have plants for sale.  Two free vehicles will be running during the day which will take people and drop them off at various points in a the village. Visitors to the event are asked to use the car park at the village entrance on the day.

Due to the terrain of Luddenden and the type of gardens there is no wheel chair access, people with disabilities may also find access difficult and sensible footwear is advisable.

£5 in advance by ringing Rodney on 01422 885141. On the day £6 at the car park.

Partners clean up Mount Pellon Community

On Thursday 23 March, partners from Calderdale Councils Safer Cleaner Greener team, Community Wardens, West Yorkshire Fire Service and staff from the North & East Halifax Neighbourhoods team got together for a community Spring Clean around the streets of Mount Pellon.

Students from Leeds and Wakefield colleges studying public services also got involved with the clean up and accompanied West Yorkshire Fire Service as part of their work experience.

Arson information leaflets were handed out in the area to make residents aware of the risks of arson when bulky waste is left in close proximity to their properties as well as information on how any bulky waste can be removed.

In total, 15 large bin bags of litter were accumulated from the roads and streets in the area.
