Positive Partnership Work Between Groups

On the morning of Tuesday 18 June 2019 the Warley Road Junior School Wardens teamed up with the Friends of West View Park and the CMBC Community Wardens to carry out a litter pick of West View Park and surrounding streets.

Thanks to some decent weather 8 large bags of rubbish was collected so a big well done to all involved.

Community wardens have regular sessions with the Junior Wardens from Warley Road Junior school. From such sessions the children will get an understanding of the importance of keeping our parks clean and tidy for everyone in the community to enjoy. It is hoped that the children will then pass this message onto their friends and family.

The community wardens are planning further fun and educational projects with the children.

Warley Road Academy Junior Wardens – ‘Respect Your Park’

North East & Central Initiative Neighbourhood wardens Lee Ackroyd, Johnny Cato & Zameer Ahktar have set up a new Junior Wardens scheme at Warley Road Primary Academy which will be centered around activities in West View Park in Warley Ward.

The “Respect Your Park campaign started with an induction by the Wardens and Countryside Officer Chris Sutcliffe as to what their roles are and the kind of activities the Junior Wardens will be doing.

They were also tasked with designing a poster which will be put up at the entrance of the Park to promote keeping it clean and tidy.

The next session on the Tuesday 18 June will be helping with a community  litter pick/clean up in West View Park followed by a wildlife and plant exploring activity scheduled for July.

The new Junior Wardens were very excited and keen to start this new adventure to promote one of our beautiful parks in Calderdale.
