Apply for a Ward Forum Grant by March 10th!

The next round of Ward Forum Grants is now open for applications until
the 10th of March 2023.

Charitable organisations, school clubs, church clubs or other CICs based in the North and East Halifax can apply for a Ward Forum Grant of up to £500 to help towards maintenance, improvement, purchase of equipment or even to organise an event.

If you are based in the Lower Valley, contact the Calderdale Lower Valley neighbourhood team to find out about their grants scheme.

Do you need funding for a project or to carry out repairs work? If you are planning a community celebration or an experience, a £500 Ward forum grant may be helpful.

Community and not for profit organisations in the North and East of Halifax have used Ward Forum Grants to fund things from repairs, to gardening, to organising events and trips.

How to apply

For help at any stage of your application, please contact the Neighbourhood Team on 01422 252029 or email Tony : Tony.King@calderdale.gov.uk

You can apply for a Ward Forum Grant of up to £500 for a project that will benefit your ward area or local community. The deadline is 10th March 2023.

Your application should meet one of the 3 following priorities:

1.            Improving the Environment
2.            Improving Health & Wellbeing;
3.            Community groups recovery.

These grants are available to organisations based in the North and East regions of Halifax, including Ovenden, Warley, Illingworth, Mixenden, Northowram and Shelf. We are keen on projects that improve the environment and the health and wellbeing of residents.

We welcome community groups and individuals to apply for funding to spend on eligible activities and projects that benefit the ward. We are especially looking to provide support to groups, clubs and projects as they try to restart their activity;

Mixenden Ward Forum meeting December 20th

Come along to the next Mixenden Ward Forum meeting

5.30pm at Mixenden Holy Nativity Church
Meeting starts at 6pm, Mixenden, HX2 8RX

Ward Councillors will be there to answer any questions or concerns you have on the things that matter to you as well as a representative from the West Yorkshire Police Neighbourhood Policing Team.

Halifax Boys Brigade go to Bournemouth with the help of a Ward Forum Grant

The Illingworth Halifax Boys brigade were successful in securing a Ward Forum Grant of £500 that helped them go away for their annual summer camp trip to Bournemouth.

The boys were involved in a lot of team building activities, including archery and other outdoors challenges, making this trip a memorable experience.

How a ward forum Grant helped the 7th St George Scout Group

The 7th St George Scout group from Lee Mount recently received a Ovenden Ward forum grant of £500 for new climbing equipment which they put to good use on their annual adventure outing.

Next Mixenden Ward Forum September 27th

The next Mixenden Ward Forum will be held on

Tuesday 27th September at 6pm

at Holy Nativity Church, Mixenden, HX2 8RX

Refreshments and signing in from 5:40pm. Meeting starts at 6pm.
