Grants of up to £25k Available to Groups to Support Calderdale Residents Improve their Emotional Health and Wellbeing

Voluntary and community sector groups can apply for a grant of up to £5k, up to £10k, or up to £25k to improve wellbeing with children up to 5 years old helping them get ready for school, or help young people develop well so that every 15 year old has hope and aspiration, that people have good emotional health and wellbeing resulting in fewer suicides, and people over 75 have strong social networks and are part of our community.

Next Ward Forum Grant round North and East Halifax by October 28th

The next round of Ward Forum Grants for the North and East of Halifax is open.

Do you need funding for a project or to carry out repairs work? If you are planning a community celebration or an experience, a £500 Ward forum grant may be helpful.

Funded taster sessions for Mixenden School children with Calderdale Community Squash – an example of what a Ward Forum Grant can be used for!

Community and not for profit organisations in the North and East of Halifax have used Ward Forum Grants to fund things from repairs, to gardening, to organising events and even trips.

How to apply

You can apply for a Ward Forum Grant of up to £500 for a project that will benefit your ward area or local community. The deadline is 28th October 2022.

Your application should meet one of the 3 following priorities:

1.            Improving the Environment
2.            Improving Health & Wellbeing;
3.            Community groups recovery.

These grants are available to organisations based in the North and East regions of Halifax, including Ovenden, Warley, Illingworth, Mixenden, Northowram and Shelf. We are keen on projects that improve the environment and the health and wellbeing of residents.

We welcome community groups and individuals to apply for funding to spend on eligible activities and projects that benefit the ward. We are especially looking to provide support to groups, clubs and projects as they try to restart their activity;

easyfundraising webinar: Free Funding for Voluntary Organisations

easyfundraising provides voluntary organisations with an easy, accessible, and permanent fundraising solution.  Come along to this online session to find out how!

easyfundraising partners with 7,000 brands including John Lewis, Sainsbury’s, M&S, Trainline, Booking.com, eBay and Amazon, who will donate to your organisation when your volunteers, staff and supporters shop with them.  It is a completely free service and is already used by 180,000 good causes around the UK.

Becky from easyfundraising will talk through how it works, how to get started as well as answering any questions you may have. It will be an informal lunchtime session – feel free to invite your colleagues too.

Suitable for:  Voluntary groups, community buildings, churches, grassroots sport clubs, schools, self-help groups, community groups, charities, CICs and social enterprises.

VSI Alliance news : Local business offering voluntary help this summer

VSI Alliance wish to share that a local business has approached them and are interested in offering some time over the summer to support  a local charity or not for profit group.

The company wishes to help with any aspect of manual work needed, from gardening to decorating or another project if you have one in mind, ideally over the weekends in the summer.

They could prefer to donate this time to an organisation based or operating in Sowerby Bridge or the Upper Valley area.
