The LIVE NATIVITY is back!

Please come and join us down in the stable to see the animals from The Christmas Story.

It will be a little bit different this year as there are COVID precautions in place but you can be assured of a warm welcome, a warm drink, a Christmas snack and crafts to make at home for children. Come and join us on Saturday 11th December.

Your Water Community Workshop in Sowerby Bridge

Get involved in a ‘Your Water Community Workshop’ with Aire and Calder Catchment Partnership to have your say and take action to create a healthy and wildlife rich water environment within the Aire and Calder.

Wednesday 27 April – From 7pm to 9pm

The aim of the workshop is to:

  • Engage with interested parties and groups
  • Put your local areas that need improvement on the map
  • Find out how the partnership can help you

Healthy Minds Support Groups in Calderdale

healthy mindsHealthy Minds Support Groups are for anyone experiencing mental distress, offering a place where people are free to talk about their own mental health if they wish in an informal and relaxed environment.

The following groups run monthly and offer support for those who need it:

  • Depression Support Group – Every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month
    Noah’s Ark Centre, Ovenden from 1pm to 3pm
  • Wellbeing Works Group – Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month
    St Paul’s Methodist Church, Sowerby Bridge from 2pm to 4pm
  • Mum Time Support Group – Every 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month
    Women Centre, Halifax from 1pm to 2.45pm
  • Wellbeing Support Group for Men – Every 2nd Wednesday of the month
    The Victoria Theatre, Halifax from 12.30pm to 2.30pm
  • Self Harm Support Group – Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month
    The Victoria Theatre, Halifax from 12.30pm to 2.30pm
  • Chronic Pain Support Group – Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month
    Noahs Ark Centre, Ovenden from 11am to 1pm

Struggling to pay your Council Tax?

Calderdale Council will be holding a number of drop in sessions from 21 October to offer advice on paying your Council Tax debt, what help is available, how to get out of debt and how to manage your money.

These are all being held from 11am – 3pm at the following venues in north and east Halifax:

  • Thursday 23 October – Mixenden Parents Resource Centre
  • Monday 17 November – Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre, Halifax
  • Tuesday 18 November – Halifax Central Library
  • Tuesday 25 November – Threeways Centre, Ovenden,
  • Thursday 27 November – Hebden Bridge Town Hall

Local organisations are welcome to attend the sessions to promote their service, or support with regards to the issues that may contribute to non payment.
