Tea Dance at St. Hilda’s Church

Showing Our Communities Award 2018 – Community Involvement Award

St. Hilda’s Church, Gibraltar Road is holding a Tea Dance on Saturday 6 July 2019, 2:00pm-4:30pm.

There’s live music by John and Brian who will be playing for dancing or just listening to and refreshments in the interval.

Tickets are £5 per person and can be bought at the door or by ringing 01422 617222 to have them reserved.

Coffee Morning at St. Hilda’s Church

St. Hilda’s Church, Gibraltar Road is holding a Coffee Morning on Saturday 15 June, 10:00am-12:30pm to raise funds for the Safe House in Mara which saves girls from the barbaric custom of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM).

There will be tea, coffee and cake as well as bric-a-brac stall and information on how we can help these girls lead a safe and pain free life.

Please go along and support them.

Coffee Afternoon on Wednesdays at St. Hilda’s Place of Welcome

The free Coffee Afternoon at St. Hilda’s Church, Gibraltar Road HX1 4HE is every Wednesday, 2:00pm-3:30pm.

All are very welcome to come along and have Tea, Coffee and Biscuits (and occasionally cakes!) and join in the chat and company.

The Coffee Afternoon at St. Hilda’s Church, Gibraltar Road is starting again on Wednesday 23 January, 2:00pm-4:00pm and every Wednesday thereafter.

St. Hilda’s Church Remembrance Events

On Sunday 18 November, 2:30pm, St. Hilda’s Church, Halifax is to have the Breakaway Brass at church as part of the Poppy-Pin Remembrance month will join with the choir in playing and singing songs and music from the war era. Tickets are £5 per person and there will be light refreshments.. To reserve please call 01422 363623 or pop into the church.

On Wednesday 28 November, 1:15pm to finish the month the children from Parkinson Lane School will be singing and dancing at the church. Again refreshments will be available. The event is free but with a retiring collection.

It would be great for lots of people to support the children as they’ve also decorated the church.

The Flashbacks, a Swing Band playing music in the Glenn Miller style are coming to St. Hilda’s church on Sunday 3 June from 2:30pm.  Playing music from 1930s and 1940s such as  Tuxedo Junction.

Tickets are £5 per person which includes tea, coffee and cakes with profits being for the church roof fund.
