On Wednesday 14 November,  St. Columba’s Church and Community Hall Group launched the use of their recently installed Defibrillator in conjunction with a visit from Neil Marsay from the Ambulance Service. Neil held a Defibrillator Awareness Session.

Trish Coyle, Chairman of the Community Hall Group, started the fundraising to purchase the Defibrillator by doing a sponsored slim. Warley Trust and The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund both gave a grant and Clif by Works (Mohammad) kindly gave a donation. James Haley (A and H Electrical) did the electrical work at a reduced price. James played rugby with the late Danny Jones – Lizzie’s late husband. Lizzie’s family attend St. Columba’s Church.

The defibrillator has been positioned outside St Columba’s Church and is registered with the Ambulance Service and available for use for anyone in the area.

Roy Stout has been appointed the Guardian of the Defibrillator and is the contact for the Ambulance Service.
