The next event with the Calderdale Women’s Interfaith Group is a joint meeting with another group who are carrying out a project on Dementia this year.
Wednesday 5 April – 10am
At St Andrew’s Methodist Church, Huddersfield Road, Halifax, HX3 0AT
You will hear from Jayne O’Connell about dementia and how we can all help to improve the quality of life for people in our town who live with dementia.
Here is the latest information regarding events planned from February to June 2015 with the Calderdale Women’s Inter-faith Group.
Wednesday 11 February 2015 – 10am to 12noon – St Paul’s Church of England
The topic of the session will be Self Defence Techniques for Women and how to keep safe and will be run by a lady with qualifications and good experience in running this kind of training. It is for all ages and you and your friends are more than welcome.
Tuesday 10 March 2015 – 1pm to 3pm – Halifax High School
we have been kindly invited to a showcase of a project called “The Land beneath My Feet” – this is a health & well being project that the ladies of Integrated Calderdale have been involved in, with an organisation called Ver De Gris. Come along if you can – this is for everyone – men and women.
Tuesday 17 March 2015 – 10am to 12noon – St Andrew’s Methodist Church
We will be joined by 2 women from Bradford who will run a workshop called Weaving Women’s Wisdom. No skills in weaving needed! It will be a real opportunity to work in a small group, creating and talking.
We hope to have another in our series of talks about major world faiths practised by some people in Calderdale – this time it is Hinduism – but we haven’t finalised the date just yet.
Tuesday 12 May 2015 – Morning
Marion Pollitt is going to lead us on a walk – no mountains involved – this will be a walk most of us can easily take part in. More details will be available closer to the time.
Monday 8th June 2015 – Morning
Julia Slater is going to do a demonstration of hand massage before you get the chance to practise this skill. Julia is trained and experienced in a whole range of complementary therapies – this will certainly be an interesting and relaxing morning. Further details including venue will be announced closer to the time.
Please note that unless stated otherwise, these events are for Women only.
