£1 million Climate Emergency fund to combat climate change

Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council (CMBC) in partnership with Community Foundation for Calderdale (CFFC), have launched a £1million Climate Emergency fund to help combat the impact that climate change is having in the borough.

Ward Forum Grants now open to applications

The next round of the ward forum grant scheme is now open to applications covering the wards of Illingworth and Mixenden, Northowram and Shelf, Ovenden and Warley so if you have an idea for a project or event that benefits your community and would like to apply for up to £500 then apply today.

The deadline for applications is 5pm on Friday 17th NovemberApply online now

Ideally your group must have a management committee, a constitution and its own bank account, however if you don’t have these but you feel you have a good idea for a project that will benefit the community please contact Tony King on 255402 to discuss further.

When completing the online application form please enter as much detail as possible especially with how you feel your project benefits the community and an itemized breakdown of what you want, many applications fail simply because of lack of information.

Energy Levels Cooking Sessions in Mixenden Wednesday 13 September

Book now for one of our FREE 90 minute  sessions on 13 September 

You’ll make and taste quick, easy and delicious recipes  which will save you time and money , and boost your energy levels

You need to be signed up to our NHP Energy Levels project to take part in our Family Cooking Sessions. Cooking places are limited  to 9 adults and 10 children per session. Children must be age 3 and above to take part and must be accompanied by an adult.

Each session lasts 90 minutes and  they will be at:

  • 9.30am at Ash Green Children’s Centre Upper Site , Clough Lane
  • 1pm at Ash Green Children’s Children’s Centre Upper Site , Clough Lane
  • 3.15pm at Ash Green School  Lower Site,  Mixenden Road

If you don’t get a place on one of these sessions,  watch out for sessions later in the autumn. They’ll  be advertised on N&E Blog and Facebook: Sure Start Children’s Centre North & East Halifax.
