New waste and recycling services from August

From 1 August 2016, new waste and recycling services will be introduced for Calderdale residents.

New vehicles will allow people to recycle even more materials at the kerbside, every week: brown/corrugated cardboard, plastic pots, tubs and trays, Tetra Pak cartons and small electrical equipment – in addition to the usual cans, glass bottles, jars, plastic bottles, newspapers, magazines, textiles and food.

There will also be changes to the way materials are collected, and your collection day is likely to change – For more information and to find out your new collection day visit our website or read the press release.

There are also lots of Roadshows and displays planned to give you a chance to talk to Council and Suez staff – see our website for more information.

Collections will start in April, but residents can sign up at calderdale.gov.uk/gardenwaste.  An annual subscription of £40 covers the cost of the service, which includes a green wheelie bin and fortnightly collections between April and November.
