Interested in researching your family tree? This is an ideal course for anyone who wants to start building their family tree and wants to confirm basic steps and recording techniques, both paper and computer based.

Genealogy for Beginners is starting at Queensbury Community Programme, The Bank, 36 High Street BD13 2PA on Wednesday 30 January, 12:45pm-2:45pm for 8 weeks at only £40 for the whole course!

Kid’s Crafts Resume at Queensbury Community Programme

Kids Crafts Classes resume at Queensbury Community Project, The Bank, 36 High Street BD13 2PA on Monday 14 January, 4:30pm-6:00pm for 5 weeks – now only £2.50 per class!

With creative crafts, sewing, cards, knitting, modelling and much more for boys and girls aged 7 and over.

Opening of Queensbury Community Managed Library

Queensbury Community Managed Library will open the doors on Monday 18 September 2017 at 10am.

Usual opening hours will be;

  • Monday 10am – 4pm
  • Wednesday 3:30pm – 6:30pm
  • Saturday 10am-1pm


They are also holding a children’s competition ‘Your Favourite Book Character’ . The competition is split into different age groups as follows;

Under 5s – colour in a pre-printed picture of your favourite book character.

Reception and Years 1 & 2 – create a book cover featuring your favourite book character.

Years 3-6 – create a book cover featuring an imaginary character and write a short description of that character.

11 Years and over – design your own cartoon character and storyline.

All entries, no larger than A4, should clearly state the child’s name, DOB, school and contact details and should be handed in at the library. Closing date for entries is Monday 16 October at 4pm.

Drop in for a free complimentary afternoon tea and see about what’s on at Queensbury Community Programme from lunches & wellbeing cafes to Mancave, singing classes and children’s classes.
Queensbury Community Programme (QCP) offers community learning opportunities to the local community. A wide variety of classes are held daily.
Sewing and Crafts for Adults and Children, Jewellery Making, Art, Painting and Drawing, Holistic Therapies, Creative Writing, Extend seated exercise, Soft Furnishing classes, Guitar Playing, Computing for All, Job Club, Drop in Cafe and Soup kitchen.
