Community Clean-up With Growing Together Action Group

The Growing Together Action Group will be holding their first clean up of the Summer. Although the weather’s not looking too good, the group are keeping their fingers crossed for a break in the rain on Saturday – the forecast is showing sunshine for the morning.

They aim to get out there and make a difference to the neighbourhood streets.

Join them in the Queens Road Neighbourhood Centre on Saturday 15 June from about 10:15am when they will hand out litter picks, gloves and bin bags to do some cleaning.

Growing Together is a community group based in Park Ward, Halifax. They aim to make the streets cleaner and greener and to help restore Pride in Park. If anyone is interested in being involved, please message the Facebook page and they can let you know about when we meet and the next action.

International Women’s Day is powered by the collective efforts of all. Collective action and shared ownership for driving gender parity is what makes International Women’s Day successful. Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.”
