With the help of local volunteers, the Friends of Shroggs Park Group have started to pick up where they left off pre-covid with a number of small scaled clean up and maintenance activities in the park which have taken place fortnightly.
Friends of Shroggs Park and community volunteers have been working in small groups over the last month alongside employees from CMBC Parks Department to carry out works in order to keep the park in a pleasant state for those who use it.
The first clean up effort resulted in a dozen bin liners of general litter being removed from the parks grounds with the whole park, including the woodland walk being covered on that occasion.
The following work that took place was focused on cutting back and neatening up the edges of the walkways in the vicinity of the maze which saw a fair amount of turf loaded into the back of a CMBC Vehicle.
The group would like to extend a thank you to CMBC for the support and providing the vehicles to remove the waste at the end of the clean ups.

These activities are currently ongoing with the next one taking place on Monday 24th August 2020 – 10am to 12noon, meeting by the Maze in the park.
