Help shape Family Hubs at the Orangebox March 8th

Do you care for children or young adults 0-25?

We’re looking for parents, grandparents and carers to help shape the brand and design of new family support centres in Calderdale.

Children’s services are being brought together in a one-stop hub of support for families in Calderdale. We’re calling them Family Hubs.

Family Hubs are for you, your children, young adults and families with children with SEND, so it’s only right we co-design them with you.

Refreshments will be provided along with a £10 voucher to thank you for your time.

Time Out FREE Half Term Activities at Orange Box Young People’s Centre

Orange Box young people’s centre will be hosting free Half Term activities over the school holiday for ages 13 – 19 years run by Time Out Calderdale. Activities will run from Monday 18 February to Friday 22 February as shown below.

There will also be access to Youth Works drop-in which is a safe space for young people aged 13-25 to come along, ‘chill out’, listen to music, access the internet or have a brew.
The drop-in is always staffed by youth workers who can offer advice, information, support or guidance on the whole range of issues that affect young people.
The drop in is open weekdays from 3:30pm-5:45pm.

No need to book, just turn up – you will need to register when you arrive (with parent or carer if under 16) if you haven’t already, or you can fill out a registration form here and bring it with you when you come.

FREE Half Term Activities at Orange Box Young People’s Centre

Orange Box young people’s centre will be hosting free Half Term activities over the school holiday for ages 13 – 19 years. Activities will run from Tuesday 29 May to Friday 1 June, 2:00pm–4:00pm.

This Summer Half Term activities will be taking on a health and well-being theme, chosen by our young people. This time there will be a particular focus on the negative effects of gang culture and crime explored through Drama.

Enjoy the art and design sessions for mood boost and release your inner interior designer by upcycling a piece of furniture!

You will also have the opportunity to create something stylish to wear, show your talents on our open mic stage, sing karaoke, climb the bouldering tunnel, play table tennis and pool, skate in the rooftop skate park and try our drama workshops.

Drama – Explore the themes of gang culture through Drama with students from Calderdale College’s BA Honours in Acting Performance course
Bouldering – climb your way around the bouldering tunnel

Furniture upcycling / Arts and Crafts – make old furniture look new again or try your hand at making crafts
Drama – Express yourself through Drama with techniques lead by the Time-Out team
Open Mic/ Karaoke – bring your instruments, plug in and perform live on our Acoustic Stage. If you don’t play an instrument then why not sing along to our many backing tracks on Karaoke
Ping Pong / Pool – challenge a friend to a game or learn to play with a member of staff

Monday 29 of April to Friday 4 of May 3pm – 6pm.

In celebration of Tour de Yorkshire Orange Box and Calderdale Young People’s Service want you to get ACTIVE!

A whole host of activities including Skating, Climbing, Ping Pong and Pool.
Need a rest after all that? Then let your hair down and Perform on our Acoustic Stage!
