New Year New Us – Healthy Minds Winter Taster Fayre – January 27th

Healthy Minds Calderdale are excited to invite you in their open day, where they want to introduce you to all their amazing services!

Come chat with our volunteers and staff about what our NEW Warm Space Drop Ins, Volunteer-Led groups and Befriending Service can offer you or the people you work with.Enjoy some warming food and drink and take part in yoga, mindfulness, allotment and arts & crafts taster sessions.

You can also learn about our other fabulous projects, like:

  • Safespace – One-to-one support for anyone in distress (Ages 16+)
  • Link – Intensive support for people ‘stuck’ in a crisis loop
  • & Welfare Rights

Drop in anytime from 10am – 1pm on Friday, 27 January.

Yoga sessions will start at 10:30am and 11:30am; Welfare Rights service information talk at 12:30pm.

The event will be held at our main office: 1 King Street, Halifax, HX1 1SR.

This is a unique opportunity for professionals to gain first-hand insight into our holistic mental health provision, services and activities so that you understand what patients and service users experience when referred to Healthy Minds. 

In particular, you can learn about:

  • Our new, volunteer-led Peer Support programme

  • Warm space drop-ins

  • Like Minds befriending service

  • Safespace – One-to-one support for anyone in distress (Ages 16+)

  • Link – Intensive support for people ‘stuck’ in a crisis loop

  • Welfare Rights

  • & more!

Cream Tea Afternoon at Mount Zion Heritage Chapel September 10th

Rediscover Shelf Hall Park! Open Day Saturday 10th September

Friends of Shelf Hall Park invite you to Rediscover Shelf Hall Park this Saturday 10th September from 10:30am to 4:30 in the afternoon.

It will be an exciting day for the whole family, with fun stalls, games for all, bowls demonstration, Teddy Tombola, football games for young and young at heart, a great opportunity to appreciate your local park.

Friends of Shelf Hall Park will be there to share the achievements and plans of the club, including the Defibrilator installed at the Bottomleys arms, all thanks to fundraisers of FoSHP.

All proceedings of the day will go towards improvements for the park.

Magpies Open Days Feb 24 and Feb 28

We are pleased to invite you to our open days. This is a fantastic opportunity to discover what we offer, take a tour of our centre, find out about our new sensory room and meet our friendly team. There will also be refreshments.

We are holding an open day for potential new members, parents and carers on Thursday, 24th February. Drop in any time between 10am and 3pm.We are also holding a separate open day aimed at professionals, such as social workers, teachers and health workers, who would like to find out more about us to help with referrals. This will take place on Monday, 28th February. Drop in any time between 8.30am and 4pm.There is no need to book for either event.Magpies is based at Unit 15, Calderdale Business Park, Ovenden, Halifax, HX2 8DB.If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.We will look forward to meeting you! Best wishes,Magpies
