20mph speed limits to be introduced over 3 year period

Calderdale Council CMBC20mph speed limits will be introduced to Calderdale over 3 years from 2015 to 2017 starting with the Central Areas Halifax and Extended Halifax Town Centre in June 2015.

The introduction of 20mph in residential areas is seen as a positive way forward in the battle to reduce the number of vulnerable road users seriously injured in collisions and to help make our streets safe and pleasant for all children and adults however they travel or wherever they live.

Detailed plans outlining the streets involved in the speed limit changes in the Central Area of Halifax are now available on the Calderdale Council website here.

You can register your support or formally comment by writing to the Council at 20mph, Road Safety, Westgate House, Westgate, Halifax HX1 1PS or by emailing 20mph@calderdale.gov.uk by Friday 23 January 2015.

If you require copies of the maps or any additional information please call 01422 392141/392814 or email 20mph@calderdale.gov.uk
