Be a Firefighter! #menasparents

On Saturday 1 June, 2:00pm – 4:00pm at Illingworth Fire Station, Keighley Rd, Halifax HX2 9LL, there will be a FREE day for children 0-5 and parents/carers to visit the Fire Station to see what the role of a Firefighter involves.

Workstations will be set up to demonstrate equipment, squirt water and chat to operational Firefighters. Adults will have opportunity to discuss safety within the home ie smoke alarms, escape plan etc. Supported by Together Housing.

Dads ‘R’ Us are at Innovations on Saturday 1 June

Dads ‘R’ Us are at Innovations Children’s Centre,  Cousin Lane, Ovenden HX2 8DQ on Saturday 1 June, 9:30am-11:30am.

Enjoy a cooked breakfast along with Children’s Centre staff then have fun in the allotment and do some planting that can be taken home.

Dads ‘R’ Us is a group run by volunteers in North Halifax. It is there to support men caring for children in the area; dads, uncles, grandads, any other male carers.

The group holds a regular meeting at different venues within North Halifax, on the 1st Saturday of every month. The session includes dads getting together having a full cooked breakfast with the kids and getting involved in all kinds of activities. Throughout the year Dads ‘R’ Us arrange trips out to farms, museums, camping trips and dads social evenings out.

‘All Things Spring’ Family Learning at Innovations Children’s Centre

There will be a family learning course at Innovations Children’s Centre, Cousin Lane’ Ovenden HX2 8DQ over 4 weeks starting on Monday 4 March, 1:00pm-2:30pm.

The activity, suitable for children from walking age to 5 years,  involves learning how to plant seeds and bulbs successfully and in a variety of ways to generate excitement, understanding of plant life & growth and an interest in where our flowers, fruit and veg come from. Take home what you have planted and watch it grow through Spring and Summer.

There are a limited number of places available to book your place on the Sure Start Children’s Centres website.

Find Your Voice at Innovations and Ash Green Children’s Centres

Two of the Sure Start Children’s Centres run by North Halifax Partnership will be holding 5 week courses to Make Some Noise this Spring. 

Everyone will be welcome to join in with friendly and fun parent and child music and play sessions. These FREE events are suitable for parents and carers with children 0-5 years.

The course starts at Ash Green Children’s Centre on Monday 25 February, 9:15am-10:15am.

and at Innovations Children’s Centre on Friday 1 March, 9:15am-10:15am.
