Morrisons supermarket in Illingworth has teamed up with the YMCA Free uniform service, and have set up a free uniform rail in their store to help out struggling families in need of school uniform.

The uniform rail can be found against the wall after exiting the self service tills, besides the book exchange shelf.
You don’t need to go through the shop floor, simply walk towards the café area.
The uniforms offered there are FREE, just help yourself.

Yes!!! We collected 19 Bags full of rubbish!
Year 5 pupils from St Malachys Primary School Picked up litter from around the Bank Edge Road & Turner Avenue South area on Monday 23rd of May 2022.
The pupils were supported by North Halifax Partnership’s Ward Link workers Karen Scanlon and Dan Marham and Community Warden Lee Ackroyd.
A Junior Warden scheme will start this September at St Malachy’s primary and year 5 pupils will have the opportunity to join.
Keep an eye out for more fantastic work in your neighbourhood by these young people!
This week the Junior Wardens from Moorside Community Primary School helped with the #springclean at Brant Avenue and Moor Lane Park in Illingworth.
The Wardens collected 8 big bags of litter from around the area With Karen Scanlon & Dan Marham from the North Halifax Partnership.
We would like to thank the junior wardens, as well as Karen and Dan for helping with the unpleasant littering.
The Illingworth Challengers are holding this year’s Christingle Service on Sunday 6 December, 4:30pm at Illingworth Community Children’s Centre, Occupation Lane, Illingworth.
For those of you who don’t know Challengers kids club is held every Thursday, 6:00pm-7:30pm (term time only) at Whitehill Community Academy, Occupation Lane, Illingworth, and is for all children aged 5 to 11.
Challengers Xtra for children aged 4 to 11 years meets on Sundays, 2:00pm-3:30pm.
Special events are held including discos, showcases, sleepovers and roadshows.
Lots of fun is had at Challengers every week including fun games, dancing, singing, winning prizes and lots more.
There is a weekly subscription charge of 50p.
The Out of Darkness Street Dance Team meet every Saturday, 11:00am-12:30pm at Halifax Elim Church.
50p per person for children aged 6 years upwards.
An evening of soap-making and chat for teenage girls and their mums (or a special aunty, grandma or friend) – Refreshments included
