A fantastic opportunity to gain a Free Diploma either in Childcare or in Health and Social Care in your local community in your nearest Sure Start Children’s centre.

The course runs one day a week over 16 sessions between 9.30am – 2.45pm, which is useful if you have school age children.

All course work is completed in class.

We are offering an Employability Skills short course which gives you the opportunity to gain essential skills and qualifications that will make your CV shine!

Those that complete this course will then have the opportunity to go on and do Health & Care Level 1 & 2.

Budget like a Boss! with help from Noah’s Ark

Do words like debt, balance, finance, budgeting confuse you? Would you like to take charge of your money for good?

Noah’s Ark have put together a two half-day course that will show you exactly how you can do that.

Due to the popularity of this course, extra sessions have been added.

  • 21st June and 12th & 19th July
    at the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre (Hopwood Lane, Halifax)
  • 2nd & 9th July Illingworth Children’s Centre
  • 15th and 22nd July Ash Green Children’s Centre

Sessions start at 9.30AM until 1.00PM.

Refreshments and lunch will be provided. Reasonable travel expenses paid.

New Mum’s Wellbeing Event at Illingworth Children’s Centre

Illingworth Children’s Centre, Occupation Lane HX2 9RL are hosting a New Mum’s Wellbeing Event on Thursday 20 June, 12:00pm-3:00pm.

The event is being held by the Calderdale Breastfeeding Peer Support Service and Health Visitors and will be a relaxed, informal afternoon with plenty to do for you and your children. There will be tea and light refreshments available.

On offer there will be;

  • hand and arm massage
  • nail painting
  • baby massage information
  • free raffle
  • reflexology
  • baby footprints

Little Learners Invited to Illingworth Children’s Centre

Illingworth Children’s Centre, Occupation Lane HX2 9RL have invited Little Learners to join the Buddy Bears Stay and Play Group for 3 sessions of messy play on Wednesday 12, 19 and 26 June, 9:30am-10:30am.

Little Learners is a multi award-winning children’s activity provider which offers educational messy play classes for babies to preschoolers. It was created and founded by a qualified primary teacher who designed an innovative mark making programme following the journey of four fun characters – ‘The Mark Makers‘. Children focus on one character each week at Little Learners classes.

Messy play, painting, play dough, scribbling, dance and more are used to encourage children to mark make and learn early writing skills through play.

The cost of £1.60 per session includes the provision of a snack.

Illingworth Children’s Centre Sports Day and More…

Illingworth Community Children’s Centre will be holding their Sports Day on Tuesday 31 July, 9:30am-11:00am.

There will be lots of sports activities, fun and games to be had for just £1.60 per family.

Keep an eye out also for other events in August such as the Summer Crafts Day on Wednesday 10 August, 9:30am-11:00am and

the Family Fun Day on Saturday 18 August, 12:00pm-2:30pm with the Fun Bus, Jumping Clay, face-painting, rock decorating and much more.
