Calderdale Council and Calderdale Clinical Commissioning Group have launched a ground- breaking new project called Staying Well to help tackle loneliness.
In Northowram Staying Well are starting a meeting point at Heywood Church, on Tuesday 22 May and every Tuesday from 10.30am to 12.00pm.
Join them for a coffee, bun and a chat and talk about what you would like to do to stay well. You might like to learn how to use an iPad to stay in touch with your family and make new friends. At least you would be keeping up with the ‘young ones’!
You could have a longing to do something you have never had the courage to attempt but together we would have some idea of what to do. So let’s talk about your difficulties and see what we can do.
Let us listen to each other and see what we can do together! Staying Well will be on Tuesday 5, 12, 19 and 26 June. If you want more information ring Jean on 201475 or 07887 854153. We may be able to fix a lift if it is difficult to get to Heywood. Please talk about it to those you meet.
Members of the Heywood church in Northowram recently received a £500 Northowram & Shelf ward forum grant. This was used to purchase tools and equipment to clean up and maintain the church grave yard, involving clearing away overgrown weeds and bushes and tending to graves that had fallen into disrepair.
As you can see from the photos this was no easy task.
A special Parade and Family Service is being held at Heywood URC Church on Sunday 3 December at 10am for those we love and see no more.
This will be a time to place the names, of those we love and want to remember, on a star to put on the Christmas tree in church.
Rainbows, Brownies & soloist Patricia Brennan will sing at the service.
Give thanks for all the work done in the graveyard and village this year and remember those who rest and live there.
Drinks and mince pies will be served after the service.
Lifts will be available from the hall up to the church.
