On Saturday 4 August 2018, 2:00pm onward there will be a Ladies seven a side competition at Ovenden Park , the home of Halifax RUFC.

There will be a feast of female rugby union football on the above date when local ladies seven a side teams will come together to celebrate over 20 years of Ladies rugby at the Club .

The Rugby Football Union is intent upon the expansion of the ladies game nationwide and Halifax RUFC can rightfully claim to have been a significant local force in this trend having instituted their team in 1996 .

Last season ( 2017/8 ) saw the Club , very creditably , finishing mid table in the Northern Counties League 1 and the target is to put a second development “Warrior“ fifteen out on a regular , friendly basis in next season . With the numbers currently training and committed, that target looks eminently attainable .

The invitation is open to all to visit Ovenden Park, inspect the facilities , watch the rugby and experience the ready welcome.

Admission is FREE .

Club players and RFU officials will be easily identifiable—to talk about the game ,the Club , the opportunities for new friendships and plans for the coming season .
