What could a Ward Forum Grant do for you?

Ward Forum Grants of up to £500 are available to community groups and not for profit organisations in the North and East of Halifax, for projects that will benefit their immediate – and possibly wider – community.

From replacing old equipment to organising induction sessions for your club, funding a trip or getting fresh supplies, if you have a project that will benefit your local community, North and East Halifax Ward Forum Grants may be just what you need.

Here is how a Ward Forum Grant helped two organisations this year!

Calderdale Community Squash

Funded taster sessions introducing squash to primary school children in Mixenden.

Thanks so much for the opportunity to reach out into Mixenden and offer these free taster sessions. I hope it is the start of a lasting relationship in the area.

9th Halifax Girls Brigade (Illingworth)

Trip to Hebden Hey scout camp.

Just wanted to thank you again for the grant we recently received.  As you know we were using the money to go towards the cost of taking the girls to camp.

We have just spent the last weekend at Hebden Hey Scout Camp.  Thirty girls attended, aged between 5 and 13.  Everybody had an amazing weekend, doing activities many of them have never had the opportunity to do before, such as crate stacking, treasure hunt trek, caving, water slide, obstacle course, traverse wall, as well as being in the river, and playing numerous games in the activities field.

Quite a few of the girls have never been away before without their parents, and I know that for most of them this weekend will be the only holiday they get this year. Even though it was hard work for the leaders, we gained immense pleasure from knowing the girls managed to enjoy an active weekend and  will take so many happy memories away with them.

Once again, thank you for making this possible.
