Calling All Songbirds – Workshops from Halifax Choral Society

Did you know that singing is medically proven to reduce stress levels and raise your mood?
Have you always harboured a desire to sing with a choir but not sure how to start? Do you love singing in the bath but singing in public with other people seems too daunting? Or maybe you are a good singer but could do with brushing up on your technique.

Halifax Choral Society are running a series of workshops for singers of all ages. And everyone is welcome.

Jenny Martins course leader explains ” There are no auditions and you don’t need to know whether you’re a soprano or a baritone. If you can’t read music we’ll help with that too. We’ll help you hit the high notes and show you how to harmonise with other voices. By the end of the 6 weeks we want you to be a confident singer. And hopefully you’ll have made a few friends too because choral singing is very sociable”.

The cost of the 6 workshops is £35 and they will be held on Tuesday evenings in May and June at the Carlton United Reform Church on Carlton Road in Halifax. For more information and to register your interest visit
