Moorside Junior Wardens Bag It Up Again !!

This week the Junior Wardens from Moorside Community Primary School helped with the #springclean at Brant Avenue and Moor Lane Park in Illingworth.

The Wardens collected 8 big bags of litter from around the area With Karen Scanlon & Dan Marham from the North Halifax Partnership.

We would like to thank the junior wardens, as well as Karen and Dan for helping with the unpleasant littering.

The Junior Wardens from Moorside Community Primary School collected 17 bags of rubbish from the Moorside area in the Great British Spring Clean!

The Wardens were very proud of collecting so many bags of rubbish and waste. Some items were even taken to a special museum of old items, collected by Natalie Ratner from The North Halifax Partnership.

The Junior Wardens were supported by Karen Scanlon and Dan Marham from The North Halifax Partnership.

Watch out for more spring cleans in the North Halifax area with Junior Wardens.

The Great British Spring Clean 2021

Our outdoor spaces have been increasingly important to us during the past year. It’s our turn to show our appreciation by cleaning up those special spaces and places, so we can continue enjoying them.

The Great Spring Clean wants to clear litter from our streets, parks and beaches. Because what is good for our environment is good for our mental and physical health too.

The Great British Spring Clean – North East Halifax Needs You!

The Great British Spring Clean is on its way from Friday 20th March to Monday 13th April 2020 across the UK. Calderdale Council and Keep Britain Tidy are calling on you, our #LitterHeroes, to take action.

This year Calderdale Council want to support as many local groups and individuals as possible. We hope that collecting a record amount of litter will improve the environment on your doorstep by joining the country’s biggest mass-participation environmental campaign.

We couldn’t do The Great British Spring Clean without people like you committing to taking part – you are helping to make a real difference in your local community by getting people to think about the amount of litter in our environment. Once someone has been on a litter pick, it’s very hard for them to not notice litter everywhere they go; we want litter picking to be the norm!

The Great British Spring Clean is aiming to inspire over half a million people to join forces across the country to collect and safely dispose of litter from our streets, parks and beaches, recycling as much as possible.

It doesn’t matter if this is your first time hosting a litter pick or your one hundredth, we want #LitterHeroes across the country to stand together to declare that litter is unacceptable.

If you would like to host or attend a Clean-Up then please get in touch and Calderdale can provide Equipment, Bags (from Keep Britain Tidy) and collect all litter after the event.

Clean-ups will take place from 20 March – 13 April 2020 and we already have some events in the diary so please get in touch ASAP to get booked in.
