On Saturday 18 July at Trinity Academy 3GI Pitch Holdsworth Road – 2pm kickoff
Ovenden Phoenix ran out 8-1 winners last year to mark the start of their journey into open age football but this year the Fire Service are well prepared for what should be yet another great occasion.
And don’t forget that this Saturday is the Emergency Services show at Birkenshaw where you will find the lads from Phoenix manning the ducking stool along with lots of fun family activities going on throughout the day.
Be sure to go along, have some fun and hopefully enjoy some nice sunshine at the same time!

Wheatley Chase residents from the newly formed Ovenden Neighbourhood Watch and Karen Scanlon from the Ovenden Initiative braved the weather and held a FUN Day on Wednesday 1 April 2015 along with West Yorkshire Police and West Yorkshire Fire Service.
Ovenden Ward Officer, Pc Kim McCloskey for West Yorkshire Police and PCSO Alice Cordingley was on hand on the estate where the main focal point of the visit was to raise awareness of the work that the neighbourhood officers do.
Pc Kim McCloskey showed some of her equipment such as radio, baton and handcuffs and some of the young people were keen to see what it felt like to be handcuffed and sit in the police van where PC McCloskey took turns to lock them inside the back of the van.
PCSO Alice Cordingley was also on hand to show the younger members of the group how the police fingerprint criminals.
Jemma Thacker from West Yorkshire Fire Service and White Watch from Illingworth Fire Station also attended on the day and showed the young people and residents around the Fire Engine and talked to local residents about Home Fire Safety.
