Visitors go wild at Ogden Water

On Wednesday 31st July, North Halifax Partnership Staff Karen Scanlon, Dan Marham and CMBC Community Warden Lee Ackroyd joined The Countryside and Woodlands Team at Ogden Water for a wild Ogden day.

The event was opened by the Mayor of Calderdale, Cllr Dot Foster who welcomed everyone to a fun packed day where they would learn more about local wildlife.  Activities included Minibeast hunts, making an insect hotel, plus indoor crafts  making clay hedgehogs and fuzzy bees as well as educational talks on the importance of bees.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service attended and spoke to visitors about moorland fires along with Moors for the Future who were there in the Bogtastic Van which tours towns and cities to inspire visitors about the iconic moorlands that surround them.
