Have you thought about a career in Early Years?

Every day is different, and you will be in the privileged position of helping young children develop and learn through play and care.

Key skills must include…

🥰 A warm smiley face that makes children feel safe and secure.

🎤 The ability to sing (in tune is not a necessity) but in front of a crowd is essential!

📖 You must be patient and kind with the ability to accept a couple of interruptions during story time.

🦖 The preferred candidate must have a good sense of humour and a good imagination, if a child requests that you are a dinosaur, you will be the best roar-some dinosaur you can be!

🦸‍♀️ Knowledge of aliens, superheroes and children’s characters would be advantageous.

👀 You must feel comfortable telling everybody in the same room as you that you are going to the bathroom. You must also be prepared to leave the building feeling comfortable with unknown substances on your clothing.

😘 And finally you must be prepared to distribute hugs when needed, ensuring children feel special and loved.

There is simply no other job quite like it ❤️

Setting the standards we expect for good work in our region – consultation

West Yorkshire’s Mayor Tracy Brabin has committed to putting in place a Fair Work Charter for the region.

By signing up to the Charter, our region’s employers will be making a clear commitment to a range of good employment practices that actively tackle the significant disparities which are standing in the way of ‘levelling-up’ our region, and doing so will be a practical way in which the Mayor can give those leading and aspiring employers the public recognition, support and encouragement they deserve for their efforts in providing fair work.

We are very keen to hear your views, the views of businesses from all sectors, and of all sizes, and from all our communities and groups, including those voices that are seldom heard.

Your views will help to ensure that the Charter is:

•             designed to be ambitious in terms of clearly setting out the Mayor’s expectations for fair work

•             practically achievable by all our region’s employers and of tangible benefit to them, and not just those in specific sectors, or our largest employers

•             of clear benefit and value to all, including our most disadvantaged communities and groups

By taking part in this consultation you will help us to understand what employment practices are most relevant to different types and sizes of employers, and which will deliver those tangible benefits to employers, employees, communities and West Yorkshire.

Details of the consultation and how to respond are here https://www.yourvoice.westyorks-ca.gov.uk/fwc

Please note that the consultation closes on 22 April 2022.
