Community Cleaning Day at Illingworth Sports Club March 27

ISC look after the base at Mason Green, Keighley Road, Illingworth for Crossley Juniors AFC and Illingworth Junior Rugby Club who have hundreds of kids from age 6-18 playing sports every weekend.

During the lockdowns and with the club being closed, the areas around the club have become a hang out for local youths who despite our polite requests to put their litter in the waste bins at the club, continue to smash beer bottles and other rubbish around the site, making it dangerous for our children and volunteers to safely return to.

As the restrictions begin to reduce and the children look forward to returning to training and playing from early April,  we have organised a clean-up day on the Saturday 27th March, from approximately 10am onwards at the club.  All necessary social distancing will be maintained and the club volunteers will be on site to assist/guide any helpers as necessary.  All PPE and tools required to do the clean-up will be provided by the club on the day.  There is plenty of free parking at the club car park.  Refreshments will be provided for all volunteers.

We have a dedicated team of unpaid volunteers committed to ensuring the children and general community in North Halifax have accessible, family friendly facilities for their kids to play sports for years to come.   Please come along on the day and get involved !
