Thanks to a grant from the Community Foundation for Calderdale through the #iwill project and The Big Lottery, Citizens Advice Calderdale are offering a chance to improve employment skills whilst making a difference to people living in Calderdale.
Citizens Advice Bureau Calderdale have a range of activities to get involved in including social media and research and campaigns with the flexibility to decide what you want to do, how often and where you’d like to work.
Existing volunteers support the charity through photography, website development and literature design.

Citizens Advice Bureau Calderdale will be changing telephone number from Monday 1 October. The new number will be 0300 330 9048.
The number will still be answered by local advisers who are available from Monday to Friday 9:30am-1:00pm and on Tuesday 4:00pm-5:30pm.
The locally based Telephone Advice Line is delivered by a team of volunteers and paid staff with many years experience in dealing with clients’ problems.
The majority of our clients now use the Telephone Advice Line as their first point of contact either getting full advice immediately or receiving appointments for specialist advice.
Citizens Advice Calderdale need a range of volunteers to help in both support and client facing roles.
In particular need are receptionists / admin staff on Mondays from 9:30am-1:30pm.
As part of Volunteer Week (1-7 June) CAB are holding a Volunteer Open Day at the stall in the Borough Market on Wednesday 6 June, 10:00am-2:00pm so call in and have an informal chat to see how you might enjoy helping.
If you have at least one day a week available and would like to help clients directly then maybe a role as a telephone assessor would be something for you.
If you enjoy research and writing reports then maybe helping with our Research and Campaigns might be something you’d like.

In response to client feedback Citizens Advice Calderdale will be relocating the Harrison Road Drop In to Halifax Borough Market (opposite TESCO) starting on Monday 8 January 2018.

Citizens Advice Calderdale have a variety of volunteer opportunities available including Telephone and face to face Assessors, Information Assistants and receptionists.
You must be free to attend 2 training sessions a week based in both Todmorden and Halifax- Travel costs will be provided.
