A Heart warming end to the year for Dean Field Junior Wardens

Junior Wardens from Dean Field Community Primary School were on hand to spread joy and put smiles on the faces of residents from Blackburn House last week.

Together with Community Warden Jonny Cato and Ward Link Worker Karen Scanlon from the Ovenden Initiative, the Junior Wardens attended Blackburn House on Wednesday 10 December where they sang Christmas Carols and read poems for the residents before making festive cards and sharing mince pies and biscuits.

That wasn’t the end of the Junior Wardens Christmas celebrations as they held a Christmas lunch and carol service for elderly residents of Ovenden on Friday 12 December.

The residents were treat to a turkey dinner and afterwards got to sing along to a mixture of Old and New Carols to bring a truly heart warming end to what has been a fantastic year with the Junior Wardens from Dean Field School.
