Charity Fair with Calderdale Riding for the Disabled

Looking for something to do with the kids on Bank Holiday Monday??

The Riding for the Disabled Group will be holding a charity fair at Meadowview Stables, Cow Hill Gate Lane, HX2 9PB on Bank Holiday Monday 27 May, 1:00pm. 

There will be pony rides, face painting, glitter tattoos and a raffle.

Calderdale Riding for the Disabled Easter Disco

The Calderdale Riding for the Disabled Group is holding an Easter Disco on Saturday 13 April,  7:00pm-12:00am at Halifax RUFCKeighley Road, Halifax HX2 8AR.

 

Get on your dancing shoes and boogey the evening away and take part in games and a raffle. There will also be a buffet.

Tickets are £10 per family (max 2 adults 2 children per ticket) and are available from Meadow View Stables, Cow Hill Gate Lane, Ogden HX2 9PB or phone 07585 978597.

Riding for the Disabled Coffee Morning

During half term, the Calderdale Riding for the Disabled Group will be holding a coffee morning on Friday 22 February, 10:30am-12:00pm at Meadow View Stables, Cow Hill Gate Lane, Ogden HX2 9PB.

Calderdale RDA are looking for volunteers from spring in the role of sidewalkers and leaders so this would give you a chance to meet the team and look around.

Volunteer Role Description – Side Walkers and Leaders

Purpose of Role: To support the session coach and encourage the participants to have a safe and enjoyable time.

Main Activities/Tasks: Help preparing for sessions by gathering equipment, grooming kits and tack Be able to help and encourage the children whilst grooming, tacking up. Communicate the coaches’ instructions to the child in words and demonstration.

Qualities and Skills: You will need to be caring, confident, capable and use common sense.
Be reasonably fit and able to work as a team. Be able to take instructions and respond straight away.

Any experience with horses or in a caring role with people will be useful but not essential. A kind, empathetic nature with a desire to be involved is great.

Allergies or fear of horses will be a barrier to this role

Training Provision: Meet, greet and familiarisation app. 2 hours
Half hour before start of each session

Availability needed: The group runs Spring to Autumn. The exact days for 2019 tbc
