WOW : Weeks Of Wellbeing from Calderdale Adult Learning

Weeks of Wellbeing, or WOW for short, is a two week long wellbeing event to tie in with the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee starting June 6th to June 18th.

The event brings to you taster classes focused around art as a means to improve wellbeing and includes sessions of arts and crafts, recycling basics, first aid skills, a taster in Portuguese, health, wellbeing and mindfulness among others. Some courses have a small charge, some are free.

As part of the WOW event, Calderdale Adult Learning are hosting the
Jubilee Art competition open to all Calderdale residents aged 19 and over.

The competition closes on the 6th June and there are some exciting prizes up for grabs, including high street vouchers and a hamper of premium art supplies.

Platinum Jubilee Art Competition deadline June 6th

To celebrate how art can boost wellbeing, Calderdale Adult Learning are holding an art competition based around the theme of ‘Platinum Jubilee.’

Prizes include art supplies, shopping vouchers and CAL course discounts.

You are invited to a short session around Dental Hygiene for people with learning disabilities.

Come and learn how to keep your teeth clean and avoid dental treatment.

Online LAB Confidence, Communication and Teamwork course

We have all faced uncertain situations this year. This is a time for re – assessment: take 2 weeks to ‘re-boot’, develop confidence for online learning, for any group or potentially challenging situation such as interviews.

Calderdale Adult Learning has teamed up with award -winning Proper Job Theatre Company again to offer the LAB Project Online. For those who want to start making that first move back to training or work, the online LAB Confidence, Communication and Teamwork course may be ideal. LAB Online uses drama and media communication techniques to develop confident communication skills for interviews and work – online and off.

LAB Online – 21  January – 4 February

Class Hours – 10 am – 1pm

Venue: Online

This 2 week online course offers a nationally recognised qualification in Communication and Team work for Further Learning and Employment.
