Pellon Community Day & Big Lunch Event this Friday

Enjoy a Community Day and Big Lunch with fun for all the family including Face Painting, Football, Cave Bus, Archery, Family Entertainer and Bouncy Castle.

Friday 2 September 2016 – between 10.30am and 3pm
Meet at the Addy Centre, 53-55 Rye Lane, Pellon, Halifax, HX2 0QB

The event will begin at 10.30am. Residents will be invited to support a community litter pick of the local streets and get the area looking great.

Northowram Scarecrow Festival – This weekend

The Northowram Scarecrow Festival 2016 will be held this weekend from Saturday 30 April to Monday 2 May and this years program will include:

All bake-off entries need to be registered to be in with a chance of being awarded Northowram Scarecrow Star Baker or Young Star Baker – Entry forms can be found online at northowram.org/scarecrows and can be posted in the Scarecrow Letterbox Outside Northowram Newsagents or emailed to northowramscarecrows@hotmail.co.uk

During the weekend of the festival you are more than welcome to pop into Heywood United Reformed Church where there will be a fully stocked Ice Cream Parlour and refreshment store up and running every day.

Have an Un-Scrooged Christmas at New Beginnings

At New Beginnings Christian Centre, Nursery Lane, HX3 5SX.

Then at 6pm enjoy ‘The Sound of Christmas’ involving a local Children’s Christmas Choir and other festive entertainment.

Entry to the evening carol and choir singing is an item/items of non-perishable food which will be donated at the end of the evening to the Halifax Food Drop In Centre.

Family Fun Day at Halifax RUFC!

hxrufcHalifax RUFC are holding a family fun day at the club on Saturday 28 February 2015.

There will be face painting, a bouncy castle, stalls and a number of other activities throughout the event.

The highlight of the day will be the chance to get your photo taken with the Women’s Rugby World Cup which will be on display in the club house throughout the day.

The club has an Under 13 girls game kicking off at 11am, the Halifax Ladies rugby team host Derby Vipers Ladies team at 12noon and the Halifax RUFC 1st team play York RI RUFC at 2pm.

The club would like to invite any local community groups to come down and set up free stalls in the club house to advertise their group and reach out to the great numbers of people who will be attending the event.
