Bonfire & Fireworks Extravaganza with WY Fire and Rescue service

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue service invite you to their bonfire event, which is guaranteed to be fun and totally safe!

The event takes place at their headquarters in Birkenshaw.

Come down & have fun, as we provide a safe place to join in the celebrations!

To keep the Bonfire and fireworks extravaganza celebrations COVID-secure places at this year’s event are limited, so please arrive early to guarantee entry.

🔥Large bonfire lit at 6.30pm

✅Autism Friendly between 7pm – 7:30pm. Mini Fireworks Display (Suitable for small children and anyone who doesn’t like loud noises)

🎆 Main Fireworks event at 8.15pm!

🎟️ Tickets are sold on the gate, Adults £8, Children £5 and Under 5s free!

🚒 All proceeds from the event go to the Fire Fighters Charity.

Ovenden Phoenix raise money for the Firefighters Charity

Fun day 2016Players from Ovenden Phoenix FC were on hand to man a ducking stool at the West Yorkshire Fire Service Fun Day held at Birkenshaw HQ on Saturday 9 July 2016 which attracts approximately 9,000 visitors each year.

Held beneath sunshine and pouring rain in the grounds of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services headquarters, every emergency vehicle possible was on display as well as a number of attractions such as children’s rides, entertaining shows and much more.

Fun day 2016.jpg2.jpg3The players from Ovenden Phoenix took turns to sit on the ducking stool and saw people of all ages queuing up to try their luck, throwing tennis balls at a target in the hope that they would knock the lads into a cold pool of water waiting below them.

Karen Scanlon chair of Ovenden Phoenix said

“We have had great fun at Birkenshaw. It’s the 3rd year we have been able to support such a great cause in the fire fighters charity and it’s lovely to see so many people out enjoying themselves”

Joined by PC Dave Illingworth, Ward Officer for Illingworth, players from Ovenden Phoenix FC were on hand to man a ducking stool at the West Yorkshire Fire Service Fun Day held at Birkenshaw HQ on Saturday 11 July which attracted approximately 9,000 visitors.

Held beneath blue skies in the grounds of the West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Services headquarters, every emergency vehicle possible was on display as well as a number of attractions such as children’s rides and entertaining shows.
