Northowram Scarecrow Festival – This weekend

The Northowram Scarecrow Festival 2016 will be held this weekend from Saturday 30 April to Monday 2 May and this years program will include:

For the Children

All bake-off entries need to be registered to be in with a chance of being awarded Northowram Scarecrow Star Baker or Young Star Baker – Entry forms can be found online at northowram.org/scarecrows and can be posted in the Scarecrow Letterbox Outside Northowram Newsagents or emailed to northowramscarecrows@hotmail.co.uk

During the weekend of the festival you are more than welcome to pop into Heywood United Reformed Church where there will be a fully stocked Ice Cream Parlour and refreshment store up and running every day.

The Shelf LAFF Family Fun Day

Shelf LAFF Fun DayShelf & District Community Group are pleased to present Laughter, Activities, Friendship and Fun with the Shelf LAFF Family Fun Day being held on Saturday 21 March 2015 from 12pm to 4pm at St Michael & All Angels School, Shelf.

Packed full of fun throughout the day and with Coronation Street star Joe Duttine on hand to start proceedings with the Grand opening, it would be a real shame to miss out.

The activities available throughout the event are:

  • Have your photo taken in fancy dress
  • ‘Power ’ your own smoothie
  • Learn how to decorate cupcakes
  • Make your very own Robot
  • Try ‘safe caving’ in the Cave Bus
  • Enjoy Easter crafting
  • Win a Trophy in our Football Competition
  • Meet players from Halifax RLFC
  • Visit our many stalls!

And if that isn’t enough, why not take part in the Great Shelf Bake Off!

  • Bake a cake and win a prize!
  • Bake any cake, any size, any flavour.
  • Please make sure all decorations are edible.
  • Please enter your cakes between 12pm and 1pm

Cakes will be displayed and judged at 2.30pm with first, second and third place winners in each category receiving a prize! – Cakes will then be sliced and sold on the day.
