CalderdaleCreates is the new strategic Cultural Partnership for Calderdale.

After delivering Calderdale’s new Cultural Strategy, ‘Where Creativity Flows’, it’s now time to start developing detailed plans to strengthen, energise and grow our cultural sector so we can maximise our impact and deliver on the strategy.

Join Us If you want to influence, shape, lead or hear about how the cultural sector is making a difference to Calderdale.

If you’re a creative professional, living in Calderdale, come along to our series of

Self Publishing a Book and Bookbinding

Bookbinding Workshop

The Artworks hold a Bookbinding Workshop starting on  Thursday 27 September, 10:30am – 4:30pm designed to help you master the craft in the production of original handmade books, repairs and reconstruction through structured practical assignments.

Working with Terry Collins you will receive the highest quality tuition in a relaxed, welcoming, open and conducive atmosphere.

The workshops are structured, providing you with the necessary skills and techniques to master the craft and are flexible too, allowing you to work on different projects from traditional to contemporary.

You can work at your own pace and all materials and tools are provided for £70.

Self Publishing a Book

There will be an introductory presentation taking you through the process of preparing your book for printing at Halifax Central Library on Monday 8 October, 2:15pm-3:15pm.

It will include discussion of suitable software to achieve the layout you want, preparing images, reviewing quotations and also handling the printed books when they arrive.

This is a FREE event but places are limited so please book your place through TicketSource.
