Thanks from Arden Road Social Club for Supporting ABF Charity Event

Arden Road Social Club would  like to say a big thank you to everyone that went to the event for ABF The Soldiers Charity on Saturday 15 June!

£1,447.97 was initially raised which was increased to £1,500.00 by the last people to leave!

They want to offer a  big thanks to all the volunteers and to The Drawing Board Band & Carmel, with whom they wouldn’t have been able to do it.

Charity Fundraising Event at Arden Road Social Club

Arden Road Social Club will be holding a Charity Fundraising on Saturday 15 June 2019.

From 4:00pm-7:00pm there will be Family Entertainment with a clown, disco, face painting and a variety of food.

There will be a £3.00 minimum donation (under 10s FREE).

From 7:00pm until late there will be entainment from the singer – Samwell Gent and the band The Drawing Board Band.

There will also be a raffle with a 1st prize of £250!!  also with many more prizes donated by local business’

All money raised will be going to “ABF the soldiers charity” – a charity close to many peoples lives.

Get an introduction to street theatre with Bradshaw Mummers

Bradshaw Mummers are holding two open evenings to introduce newcomers to their form of historical style street theatre.

The nationally renowned team perform short plays for laughs at a variety of festivals and events on several weekends throughout the spring and summer.

They will soon be casting and rehearsing for this year’s play, so this is a great opportunity to meet the team and see how you might be part of it.

Northern Soul at Arden Road Social Club

Set in 1974, this is an authentic and uplifting tale of two friends whose horizons are opened up by the discovery of Northern Soul music, the sounds that moved a generation, literally.

If you were there you’ll know and if you weren’t you can experience it with a live DJ and dance fueled night at the Arden Road Social Club. Bring your dancing shoes and find your soul!

Prepare yourself for the comedy Alpacalypse!

halifax-comedy-festival-holding-imageA major comedy festival is set to launch in Halifax on Wednesday 15 July, building up to a main event over the October half-term from Friday 23 to Saturday 31 October.

Major names such as Andy Hamilton, Alistair McGowen and Jasper Carrott have already been announced, with many more household names to follow and not to mention there will be 12 shows coming directly from the Edinburgh Fringe, so if you missed them there, there’s the opportunity to see them during the Halifax Comedy Festival.

Music Night fundraiser in support of Healthy Minds

healthy mindsGo along to Arden Road Social Club on Saturday 25 April 2015 from 6pm for a fundraising music night packed full with a line up of local performers bringing you folk, jazz, blues, pop, poetry and more.

This is a family friendly, pay on the door event with a suggested donation of just £3 and includes activities such as face-painting, Mehndi and a raffle along with hot and cold food available at low prices.

‘Pastimes’ live music event

past-times-02Pasttimes is a new event for older people which is due to start at Arden Road Social Club on Monday 9 February 2015 from 1.30pm to 3.30pm and will hopefully become a weekly event thereafter.

Come along to see live music performed by local young people as they create an old music hall experience with tea, coffee and biscuits served throughout.

The event was initially designed around people living with dementia but the invitation is open to all and there is approximately 20 people attending so far but the room holds 100+ so if you know of anybody you feel may enjoy the experience then please let them know.
