Waste Collection Dates Over the Christmas Period

Some collection days will be different over the Christmas period. Most are a day later but if your collection date is usually Tuesday, this has been brought forward to Saturday 22 December. Please see the following to see when your collections are due.

Carols at St. Columba’s Church, Pellon

Carols at St. Columba’s Church, Pellon will this year be on Sunday 16 December, 2:30pm in the Community Hall and featuring the High Five Singers.

There has also been great attendance at both the Staying Well Brew and a Chat Christmas Party with and the Angels Cafe.

It’s fantastic that these events are becoming so well known and popular.

 

The Story of Jesus Described in The Quran

Jimah Dawah Mosque is presenting a family event for people of all faiths or none to describe how Jesus and the key events in his life are described in the Quran.

The event will be hosted by local Imams at the JMAH at 97 Hopwood Lane, Halifax HX1 4ET on Sunday 16 December, 1:30pm-2:00pm. 

Light refreshments will be provided and all are welcome. For further information call 07926 675989.

Early Christmas Celebrations at Dean Field School

What a wonderful start to the festive season!

On Tuesday 4 December, Junior Wardens from Dean Field Community Primary School hosted an afternoon of Christmas festivities for older members of the of the Ovenden community.

Musical bingo was provided by Staying Well Daisy Chain Cafe and Afternoon Tea was served by the Junior Wardens sparing some time for pulling crackers and eating mince pies. To add to the festivities the Dean Field school choir sang a variety of Christmas songs.

Community Carols at Buttershaw

The Christingle Family Service will be at St. Michael’s on Sunday 9 December, 4:00pm. 

There will be Community Carols at the Sandale Community Hub near St. Aidan’s on  Buttershaw on Sunday 23 December, 3:00pm  with refreshments being served.

All are welcome.
