It’s that time of year when many of us take the opportunity to get outside, pause, and do the things we love most. How lucky we’ve been to enjoy some sunshine recently (and of course rain!). It’s certainly put a spring in my step and I’m excited to bring you this summer update from Curious Motion.
So far, 2021 has seen the launch of our second podcast series, the return of Brews & Grooves to Elland (hooray!), and we are delighted to announce some new classes are coming your way too!
As we all continue to navigate the world we live in, I hope that Curious Motion brings you some joy and connection whenever you need it.
Much love

Listened to our podcast yet?
Don’t forget, you can listen for free any time! Both series of curious e-motion are available for free on all major podcast platforms and our website.
In our most recent series, I’m joined by some incredible people to delve into Curious Motion’s values; from integrity to inclusion, compassion to curiosity – what do they mean to others and what can we learn by exploring them?
Transcripts are available for all episodes on our website too.
The Curious Motion Family is growing
In July we welcomed the wonderful Isla Hurst to the Curious Motion Family as our very first intern!
Isla is a dance artist, and she has just graduated from the Northern School of Contemporary Dance in Leeds. She’s supporting us with the ‘behind the scenes’ activity of the company and we are so excited to have her on board!
Find out more about Isla and the rest of our lovely team here.
I am incredibly grateful to have been nominated for a One Dance UK Award for Dance and Wellbeing!
The One Dance UK Awards are an annual celebration for people from across the dance sector to unite, celebrate, acknowledge, and reward the people who have made an impact on the vibrant UK dance landscape.
We’ll find out soon whether I’ve made the shortlist – keeping everything crossed!
Sam recommends…
- The Midnight Library by Matt Haig
- The Gifts of Imperfection by Brené Brown (and the podcast series to go with it)
- Home Body by Rupi Kaur
Sending love and do keep in touch
