In case you missed it, last Sunday 1st of August was Yorkshire Day when our very own Natalie Ratner made a grand event at Shroggs park possible!
The Day celebrations were not the only reason for this event. There are efforts to restore and reuse the Shroggs Park Pavilion, which there is every hope it can become a feature for more such community events.

We had a fantastic time [yesterday] celebrating Yorkshire Day with every generation of the community at Shroggs Park! A huge thank you to everyone who came along.
We enjoyed welly wanging, a brilliant history talk by David Glover, a variety of sports with Tanny from Calderdale Youth Service, hunting for Yorkshire phrases around the park and arts and crafts including flag making, badge making and pebble painting.
This was truly a community effort and really highlighted what’s possible when we come together. Community events like this can become a regular feature if the Pavilion was in use to host them.
Visit them on Facebook to read special thanks, see more pictures and find out the winners of competitions!
