  1. Although this is appreciated, the timing of 10am was the wrong time to catch speeders.
Please could this be repeated from 3pm onwards.
Or ask the local residents who witness these speeders and racers, we live here and we need to feel safe.
Something needs to be done sooner rather than later

  2. Thank you for conducting the speed survey at Moor End. Normally, 10am is a rather sedate time of day for drivers, please could you consider revisiting later in the day / early evening as that is the time when you will catch the speeders. I live at the top of Gibb Lane and often hear the screeching of tyres on the corner and wonder how they have managed to get around the corner at speeds in excess of 50mph. On many occasions they don’t make the corner and end up in the field….through the wall

  3. I’m pleased to see this was done, thank you, but I think the timing of it (10.00am) has not shown the worst of the problems. Evenings, when there are less vehicles, is when the worst speeders are seen.
Is there any chance that a second monitoring session could be carried out?

  4. We appreciate the speed monitoring of Moorend Road but the snapshot of traffic speed recorded does not represent the experience of those of us who live along this section of the road. The time of day when excessive speeds seem to occur is after 4pm and into the evening when the volume of traffic reduces and drivers are faced with a fairly straight stretch of road. I would like to request further monitoring later in the day.

  5. Speeding on Jumples Crag / Crag Lane was by the council recording s showing 400 in an hour in this 20 MPH zone with speed up to 60 plus MPH
Could you please come here somehow we seem to be bypassed!

  6. Interesting. Over 33% of drivers speeding in each case. Automatic fines and points I suspect would soon drive that figure down.
Speed awareness courses or a courtesy letter through the door aren’t strong enough in my humble opinion.
Too many distracted drivers in a rush to get nowhere above the legal speed limit.
