We are recruiting for 2 exciting new posts! Be part of the VSI Alliance team that’s supporting Calderdale charities & community groups who are, in turn, making such a vital difference to local people.

FOOD POVERTY CO-ORDINATOR

£24,204 per annum, 30 hours per week (£19,625 actual)

Fixed term for 1 year

  • Would you like to make a difference to the health and lifestyles of people and families across the district?
  • Would you like to be part of a committed team to ensure fair distribution of goods to enable households to live well?
  • Have you experience of working with individuals who live on a low income or in poverty?
  • Do you possess strong communication skills?
  • Are you empathetic but with tenacity to deal with challenging, multi-layered issues?
  • Can you demonstrate a practical approach whilst understanding the larger political picture?
  • Do you have an eye for detail?
  • Can you evidence working in partnership?

We would like to recruit a Co-ordinator who will work as part of a team to address Food Poverty, throughout the Covid pandemic and beyond. The post will continue to respond to future, national and local challenges including any transport/import implications to the UK food distribution systems now we have left the European Union.

This role will support the existing Food Poverty Forum.  It will also link into the wider Food Network, especially around nutritional content of `free’ meals and parcels.

This role is part of a wider voluntary and community sector infrastructure support service, working closely with Calderdale Council, Public Health and Anti-Poverty teams.

Could you be the person to help connect local volunteers to those who need support in challenging times?

VOLUNTEER HUB CO-ORDINATOR

£24,204 per annum, 37 hours per week

Do you have:

  • Previous experience of managing people and an enthusiasm for connecting people?
  • Energy and enthusiasm to work with organisations to help build resilience in our communities?
  • A flexible and adaptive attitude to community challenges?
  • Great organisational skills and a good head for data management?

We are looking to recruit a Co-ordinator who will lead on the Volunteer Hub activities through the pandemic and beyond. The post will look to respond to future challenges including further lockdowns and possible local flooding incidents. Responding to requests for support from individuals, families and community anchors, our Co-ordinator will link volunteers to specific tasks, follow up afterwards and collate all data about the support.

Our Co-ordinator will have previous experience of assisting in the delivery of training and of being part of developing new initiatives as and when required.

Working as part of a wider voluntary and community sector infrastructure support service, this will be an integral post, supporting the continuation of the Volunteer Hub for the future. This role is part of a wider voluntary and community sector infrastructure support service, working closely with Calderdale Council, Public Health and Council Volunteer Managers.
