Since the start of the pandemic in March, our money advice team have been running a food bank. We’ve delivered a unique service that has combined food parcels with ready-made frozen meals (almost 10,000 made to date) and money / debt advice, alongside budgeting support to enable people to manage their money effectively and not become dependent on food support.
The last few months have been very challenging for us and we couldn’t have done it without the commitment of our staff. Running a busy foodbank is not without financial cost though. We receive a small amount of funding from Calderdale Council which is being stopped due to the funding ending. Without this funding we won’t be able to cover the core costs of running our foodbank.
So, our question is, do you want us to continue with our foodbank?
