The impact of what Memory Lane does can be best summed up by what our members have said:-
“has been of tremendous help to me personally with all the advice and encouragement they have given me”
“my husband comes alive at the cafe”
“improves the way I feel – my mental health”
We were established in 2016 to provide support for people affected by dementia, other memory problems, and isolation. We run regular pop-up cafes providing entertainment, information, support and socialisation for individuals, their families and carers. Since we began we have steadily increased our membership (firstly with our Sowerby Bridge cafe and, a year later, our Halifax cafe).
We are now looking for an enthusiastic and committed volunteer to join our Trustee team as Treasurer to help us continue to grow and develop our what we do. You’ll need to attend meetings (quarterly plus other meetings from time to time) and also be able to work at home on managing the finances and providing reports etc to the Trustees.
Ideally, we are looking for someone who has:-
- good communication skills
- ability to use spreadsheets
- awareness of accounting practices
- willingness to learn – we’ll provide training as necessary and there will be other opportunities for learning and personal development as part of our team.
Our accounts are currently well-managed by our current Treasurer who will be leaving us at the end of the financial year (31-3-21). He will be available to familiarise and induct the new Treasurer into the role for a seamless transfer.
We are a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and Registered Charity No 1178595.
To arrange an initial informal chat please contact our Secretary – Chris Harvey (email firstname.lastname@example.org or phone 07884 966756 or 01422 706373).
