LOCAL RSPCA SET TO HOST ANNUAL DOG SHOW LIVE FROM THEIR ANIMAL CENTRE THIS JULY 5TH
The Covid 19 Crisis has created many obstacles to the Charity Sector this year and one of the RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford Branch’s most popular events – the K9 Party in the Park – has had to convert from an outdoor event to a virtual fun dog show which will be live streamed to viewers homes!
The local RSPCA Branch were devastated to cancel their summer fundraising events due to the Covid-19 Crisis which hit the country back in March. One event in particular was their K9 Party In The Park, which this year would have seen the 20th anniversary of their hugely popular Fun Dog Show held in Manor Heath Park, Halifax.

The self-funded, local branch of the RSPCA relies heavily on this annual event to help raise vital funds for the animals in their care and had already put plans in place to celebrate their 20th year with their two-legged and four-legged supporters.
However, due to the government’s current safety ruling on banning large events, the charity came up with an exciting virtual twist, which will allow their supporters to enter a virtual fun dog show prior to hosting a live streamed show at their Animal Centre to join in with at home!

The K9 Party Fun Dog Show boasts a staggering 20 classes to coincide with their 20th year, all of which can be entered by uploading your dogs photograph or video from June 26th – July 3rd via the Facebook event page or by email to the event organisers.
Then on Sunday 5th July, the Animal Centre will hold a live-streamed event from 12pm, which will not only announce the fun dog show winners, but will also host a dog adoption parade, doggy party games, raffle and more interactive games to join in with from home.

Fay Gibbons, Digital Fundraiser says “Our K9 Party In The Park is an event we look forward to holding every year and we had so much planned for this year’s 20th anniversary. The event isn’t just a dog show to us, it’s a chance to celebrate how much our canine companions mean to us and to meet up with our incredible supporters to have a day of fun and celebrations’’
Each year the K9 Party hosts up to 800 dogs, with more than 1400 people attending the event in Manor Heath Park in Halifax. The Branch hopes this year’s virtual event will help raise vital funds to support their animal welfare work through the current COVID19 crisis and also provide a bit of fun for their supporters who may be missing their local community events this year
The dog show classes will include old favourites such as ‘puppy love’, ‘waggest tail’ and ‘eyes that melt your heart’ with all winning entries announced during the charity’s live Facebook stream from 12pm on July 5th.
Entries cost just £2 and all the details of how to enter will be on the Branch’s website www.rspcahalifaxhuddersfieldbradford.org.uk and Facebook page.
“The day will be exactly what it says it is – a party! We hope all of our supporters will tune in to join the fun and hold their own K9 Party in their homes!’’

“The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford and District Branch are a self-funding branch of the National RSPCA, responsible for raising money locally to support our animal welfare work. Our charity has rehomed 61 dogs, 102 cats and 33 small animals already this year. Our main aim is to rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and find them loving, permanent homes. We rely on public donations and the generosity of our local community to keep the doors of our animal centre open.”
