Friends of Shroggs Park Group are pleased that the accessible roundabout has been installed and are encouraged that it now gives wider access to everyone for play. Parents/carers of young children with prams, those who use wheelchairs and people with limited mobility now have a safe and accessible means of enjoying Shroggs Park.
Our thanks to The True Colours Trust and Calderdale Council for their grants and help with the project, the equipment has enabled disabled children and their families to play together in the park. It enables a number of children to play together at the same time and allows children of all abilities to play together. It provides Shroggs Park with its first specific inclusive play item.
Shroggs Park offers users a large network of paths to explore including a woodland area along with more traditional park facilities such as football and skate facilities.
The addition of the inclusive roundabout compliments the existing facilities that already existed and provides much needed added interest for disabled children who can enjoy the park more fully.
