The Beechwood Big Picnic is back on Saturday 7 September, 12 noon – 4pm.
It’s a great day out for all the family with lots of activities to keep kids and grown-ups entertained all day. And there’s nothing like a day in the park to improve wellbeing!
Join us in the Wellbeing Tent for a brew at our Madhatters’ Tea Party. Paint your own teapot that can be used as a pot for your favourite flower or to hang in your garden and fill with birds seed and watch the robins visit.
Try Tai Chi or try Boccia (boules) with the Men United Group. Have a chat with the Better Living Team or Alzheimer’s Society. The North Halifax Community Wellbeing Partnership wants to hear from you what being mentally healthy in North Halifax looks like – let them know what you think.
Have you ever thought about doing a Park Run but not sure what to expect? Join our Active North Halifax Coordinator for our Beechwood Fun Run at 3pm. The course is only 1km long and you don’t have to run, walk it! crawl it! or be pushed in a wheelchair or pram! There will be people at the back making sure NO ONE IS LEFT BEHIND – no matter how slow you go.
Interested in Bowling? The Beechwood Bowling Club is running demos all day on the bowling green. They’ll be more than happy to talk to you about the sport and the social side of the club over a cuppa.
Or, join us on the Listening Sofa for a #bigcalderdaleconversation – a place to talk about whatever you want! #letsgetsociallyactive
With such a wide variety of activities from local organisations and groups that can help you stay well and active, it can be confusing to know where to start.
Why not visit our Staying Well Social Prescribers in the Wellbeing Tent for a social prescribing conversation and get advice about who to talk to first?
