As part of the work of the Halifax RLFC Foundation, a Rugby League Heritage Lunch Club has been formed.
The aim is to meet on the first Thursday in every month at the Old Post Office pub in Winding Road, Halifax, HX1 1SJ. The time will be from 11:00am-1:30pm so the next meeting is Thursday 6 September. The theme this time of “turning the corner” is set in the late 70s. Already confirmed as guests are Mick Scott, Mick Blacker, Paul O’Hara, and Dave Busfield.
The first meeting was on the Thursday 2 August, 11:00am-1:30pm, with the one-and-only Jim Mills being the first guest and their is a short video of this at https://vimeo.com/285133407.
The format will be theme-based around a guest speaker, artefacts, CDs of old matches, the Thrum Hall XIII, and a Q&A session.
The target audience is the over 50s, but people of all ages are welcome. However, as we will be on licensed premises, under 18s MUST be chaperoned.
A two-course meal will be available at the fantastic price of £3.99. Whilst not essential, you are advised to pre-book if you wish to guarantee a meal by contacting Malcolm Kielty or Chris Mitchell (email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org ), leaving your name and contact details. Payment can be delayed until the day.
The numbers are limited to 50, so those booking their meal ticket will be given priority and those not buying a meal will be charged £1. If you do not pre-book, food may not be available.
